JAMAXX Web Design was started in June of 2004, by web designer Richmond Lauman, in Nanaimo BC, Canada. Richmond's goal was to provide the best possible web design services to small businesses and organizations on Vancouver Island at affordable prices. In the years since the company's inception, it has achieved great success towards this goal and Richmond has expanded his aims to include a global market.

JAMAXX has been honored with a number of awards for the services they provide including 2 Sterling Awards (Richmond was also a finalist for two categories in the 2008 Sterling Awards), 1 MISTIC Award and the Make It Real Better Business For Better Communities Award. JAMAXX Web Design has also been active in the community, supporting business as a member of the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, and supporting local non profit organizations and charities such as R.E.A.C.H., The Nanaimo Unique Kids Organization, Nanaimo Downtown Farmers Market, the Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club, the Nanaimo & District Minor Fastball Association, and the Vancouver Chapter of the Guardian Angels.
